The Chassiron Lighthouse on the île d’Oléron is certainly one of the island’s most famous landmarks. Sitting at the very north of the island it commands the landscape that surrounds it and sends its ray of warning lights out to meet the most stunning sunsets that Mother Nature has to offer. Light is one of the prevailing factors in my series of Oléron paintings.
