Orange Cabin

Situated along the canals that lead inland from the sea, the brightly coloured cabins of Chateau d’Oleron reflect their glowing exteriors into the tidal waters below. Traditionally they are used for the preparation of oysters and many remain for exactly that purpose, but increasingly they have also become occupied by artists and artisans who have found their small size perfect for showing off their creations to summer visitors.
