An evening in Bordeaux… the moment when we leave the opera, concert, restaurant… and we don’t want the evening to end. So we stroll through the streets, in spite of a light drizzle, the reflections and the light creating a magical and romantic atmosphere. Life is good!
I was inspired to paint this because the above is exactly how I felt! There was also a feel of the Jack Vettriano style in the subject matter and lighting, which I like very much. It is unusual perhaps for me to paint such a romantic piece, but I think we all have a need for a bit of romance sometimes!
