Standing alone at the top of the hill, a smallholding of tiny dwelling and larger barn has long been silent. Its majestic lime tree stands on guard above the rolling landscape and thorny hedges, now lightly dusted with a white winter frost. The inhabitant has rarely been seen, just a glimpse here and there; only the opening and closing of shutters, now and again, indicating life within.
